The Viewing Room

Terms of Use

Effective October 6, 2026

These terms apply to The Viewing Room, the members-only online gallery run by Masterpiece Cards ("Masterpiece Cards", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in or using The Viewing Room, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use The Viewing Room.

1. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Use your own email address, or your own Google account, and keep access to it to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it.
  • Tell us at members@masterpiececards.art if you think someone else has used your account.

2. What you may do

While your account is active, you may view the gallery, save favorites and read about the artists for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. This permission is personal to you, cannot be transferred, and ends if your account is closed.

3. What you may not do

  • Download, save, screenshot to share, copy or record gallery images, other than the temporary copies your browser makes to show you the page.
  • Reproduce, republish, print, sell or distribute any artwork, or use it on merchandise, in advertising or as a digital collectible.
  • Use any artwork or other content to train, test or improve an artificial intelligence or machine learning system, or add it to a dataset.
  • Remove, crop or hide watermarks or artist credits, or get around any measure that protects the images.
  • Use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access The Viewing Room or collect its content.
  • Share, sell or transfer your account, or a membership or code that was not issued to you.
  • Interfere with the site, test its security, or try to reach parts of it you are not allowed to reach.
  • Use The Viewing Room in a way that breaks the law or harms others.

4. Who owns the art

Every sketch, image, artist biography and other piece of content in The Viewing Room belongs to Masterpiece Cards or to the artists and licensors who created it, and is protected by copyright and other laws. Using The Viewing Room gives you no ownership of it and no rights beyond section 2. Owning a physical sketch card means you own that card; it does not give you the copyright in the artwork.

5. Membership, purchases and codes

  • Some or all of The Viewing Room may require a paid membership. The price, length and any renewal terms are shown at the time of purchase in our store, and the terms shown at checkout form part of these terms.
  • Purchases are made through our online store, which is operated by Squarespace. Payment is handled by the store's payment processor; we do not see or store full card numbers.
  • Membership is tied to the email address used for the purchase. Sign in to The Viewing Room with the same email address to receive access.
  • A code may give membership at no charge. Codes are for one person, have no cash value, may expire and may be withdrawn if misused.
  • Unless the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable for any part of a membership period already started.

6. Favorites and views

You can mark artwork as a favorite, and we count how many members view each piece. We use this to show popular work, to sort the gallery and to suggest work you may like. Counts may be shown to other members and to the artists. Our Privacy Policy explains what is recorded.

7. Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the gallery or the artists at risk, without refund where the law allows. You may close your account at any time by emailing members@masterpiececards.art.

8. Changes

The gallery changes over time: artwork may be added, moved or removed, and features may change. We may also update these terms. When we make a significant change, we will ask you to agree to the updated terms the next time you sign in. If you do not agree, you may close your account.

9. Disclaimers

The Viewing Room is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, or that any particular artwork will remain in the gallery.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Masterpiece Cards will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of The Viewing Room. Our total liability for any claim relating to The Viewing Room is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for membership in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

11. Copyright concerns

If you believe something in The Viewing Room infringes your copyright, email members@masterpiececards.art with a description of the work, where it appears, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized. We will review it and remove material where appropriate.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

13. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the terms shown at checkout are the whole agreement between you and us about The Viewing Room.
